Selection into the Young Researchers Collaborative (YRC) program is required for this registration option. YRC is a partnership to support Chicago Public School educators in making inquiry-based science a key component of classroom curriculum. It focuses on animal behavior and ecology studies both at schools and on zoo grounds to teach middle school students research skills and guide them through the process of conducting original research projects. Applications for the school year become available in March of the previous year.
