Join us for the Flint River Shooting Challenge, an open event for all ages 6 and up, male or female, adult or youth.  While this event is hosted by the Flint River Council, Boy Scouts of America, it is an open event for any person interested in shooting.  

Events will include a benchrest 22 rifle competition, a bb gun competition, a shotgun competition, and an archery competition. There are categories for both Experienced and Novice athletes as well as an age categories where appropriate.  All events will have safety briefings at the beginning of the session (morning and afternoon) Ages for each category are broken down as follows based on age the day of the competition:

 

Benchrest 22 :         11 - 14 years of age

                                15-17 years of age

                                18 years of age and older

BB Gun:                   6/7/8 years of age - prone only competition

                                9/10 years of age - prone/standing competition

Shotgun:                  13-14 years of age

                                15-17 years of age

                                18 years of age and older

Archery:                   9-12 years of age

                                13-15 years of age

                                16-17 years of age

                                18 years of age and older

 

Locations:  Shooting Sports complex - Camp Thunder, Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base

Cost:  $10 per participant per competition.  Athletes may compete in more than one event so please register for as many events as you wish.

Food:  Lunch ON SATURDAY ONLY is available for purchase for non-competitors at a cost of $5 per person.

Equipment:  All equipment and ammunition will be privided at the event. 

Entry Deadline:  Midnight, Sunday May 12, 2013.

 

Please note, no registration is considered complete until you have received a confirmation email from the Doubleknot system.If you choose the mail-in option for payment, please mail your payments no later than May 13th.  An email will be generated from Doubleknot when the funds are received at the Flint River Council office.

 

While this competition is open to the general public, we will follow the Boy Scouts of America safety rules for all disciplines.  Please make sure that you listen closely to the safety briefing and ask any questions you might have during that time.  Any competitor, coach or parent can be removed from the firing line at any time at the sole discretion of the Range Safety Office and asked to leave the competition for violation.  No refunds will be given under such conditions.
