Scouting for Food 2015:
With the Super Bowl coming to Arizona this year we decided to partner with other local organizations to make our Food Drive bigger than ever. For 2015 the Food Drive will begin on Saturday, January 24 with Packs and Troops starting to pass out flyers that day and conclude with the food being picked up on Saturday, January 31st, the day before the Super Bowl. A national organization called the “Souper Bowl of Caring” has joined with us to help fight hunger in Arizona. They have helped us partner with the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Interfaith Movement, The Association of Arizona Food Banks, The Society of St. Vincent De Paul and food banks such as United Food Bank and St. Mary’s Food Bank. Units that participate will need to report their food donation pounds, hours and location on our reporting website in order to receive a patch. Last year we collected over 250,000 pounds of food, let’s make this year even better. The website is www.grancanyonbsa.org/food
