Scout Executive Minute

Baden-Powell is quoted as saying, “every boy deserves a trained leader”.  Today’s world of Scouting, I would say that every youth deserves a trained leader.  Trained leadership would include both adults and youth.
Wood Badge for adults and NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) for youth leaders are fine examples of the advanced leader training provided.  The Grand Canyon Council has multiple courses offered throughout the year for adult leaders, Boy Scout youth leaders and Venturing youth leaders.  All of these courses emphasize leadership skills that can be used in Scouting and in daily living, as well.  Both Wood Badge and NYLT are becoming recognizable and important resume items.
