Merit Badge Pamphlets: Read the merit badge pamphlet before you come. There will not be pamphlets available for purchase at the college. Pamphlets can be purchased at the Scout Stores, online at ScoutStuff.org, borrowed from your Troop's library or borrowed from public libraries. Classes will be using the most current requirements.
Disclaimer – Scout’s Responsibility: “Blue cards” which are actually 3 page NCR paper, will be available for you at the College. All scouts that do not finish a merit badge are responsible for contacting a counselor outside of the college to complete it. The Merit Badge College is not going to be tracking what each Scout has completed or needs to work on – this is the Scout’s responsibility. Do not lose your NCR Paper.
Merit Badge Counselor Training: Come and get trained to be a better counselor and understand how to be organized in the process so you know the role of the Scout, Scoutmaster, and yourself. You may register online for this class through the Merit Badge College website.
CPR: A National Safety Council CPR class is being offered for both youth and adults. Cost is $25 for this class and all youth are considered an attendee of the college. The class is being taught by Ed Wade from Aurora Medical Team. To attend this class, please register through the Merit Badge College website.
Shotgun: This class will be taught at a gun club, not at the location of the other classes. This class will require each scout to secure transportation from home to this location and back. Further details will be forth coming. There is also a $10 additional fee for materials. If the scout has access to a 12 gauge shotgun, he should bring it, but no ammunition, which will be provided.
