Directions to Rancho Alegre:

FIRST, do NOT follow any directions you may receive from Google Map, Mapquest, or your GPS. You are guaranteed to get lost.! This is because there are several 2680 Hwy. 154 along that road - some ten miles apart. Instead follow these instructions to arrive at the correct location for Rancho Alegre

Take Highway 154 (San Marcos Pass Road) from either the South or the North entrances on Highway 101. This highway is 32 miles long and Rancho Alegre is at the midway point approximately 1.25 miles below the main entrance to Lake Cachuma County Park. The main entrance to Rancho Alegre is directly opposite the roadside telephone identified as 154 163.  The 163 indicates that it is 16.3 miles from the Santa Barbara entrance to Hwy. 154 from Hwy. 101.

From the south, the entrance is on your left. From the north, the entrance is on your right. Continue up the entry road for approximately 1/4 mile to the camp gate.
