Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)

Rancho Alegre, Saturday, August 18, 8 am, to Sunday, August 19, 5:00 pm
 (A minimum of 5 people must sign up and pay by Monday, August 13th, or IOLS can be cancelled)

Scout Leaders will learn about

• Campsite selection
• Campfire planning
• Woods tools
• Hiking and Packing Techniques
• Fire site preparation and building
• Cooking and sanitation
• Map Reading and Compass Skills
• Nature Identification
• Ropes and knots
• First Aid
• Leave No Trace Principles

Instructors will help you learn how to bring all these items to life so that you can deliver the promise to every Scout you serve. It will increase your comfort level and give you confidence as a trained, skilled leader. The program will give you the opportunity to work with other Scout Leaders from your area, meet new friends, and reinforce skill techniques.
