Backpack in the Sangre de Christo range of the Rocky Mountains in New Mexico with Narragansett Council, leaving in late June, 2008. Dates finalized by Fall/Winter 2006.
COST: Approximately $1600 payable in installments; a $200 deposit is due at registration. Please note that fees shown are tentative and subject to change based on variable transportation costs, including but not limited to air fare.

The 16 Day Itinerary:
Leave Providence, Arrive Denver; spend 4 days touring;
à Whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River
à Visit the Air Force Academy
à Take the Cog Railway up Pike?s Peak
à Spend one night in the Koshare Kiva
à Arrive Philmont; 12 days at Philmont
Arrive back in Providence mid July

Requirements:
Youth: Must be 14 by January 1, 2008, be in good physical condition. Prior backpacking experience is helpful but not essential.
Adult: Must be in excellent physical condition, and be SM/ASM trained, and be Youth Protection trained.
Spend 10 days hiking in the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico. Visit back country camps that offer rock climbing, burro racing, fly fishing, black powder rifle shooting, tomahawk throwing, an Indian sweat lodge, fur trapping, gold panning, search and rescue training, climb Mount Baldy and Mount Philips, and much more. Be prepared to work hard and have the adventure of a lifetime!

Create a registration. Click on the "Philmont" button and on the bottom of the page click on "register"

Make the initial deposit. $200 is required when you initially create the registration.

Take note when payments are due. Note the payment schedule above for deadlines. You may log in and make as many payments as you wish. Just be sure to be up to date by each deadline. For example, you may wish to pay $100 per month - that's fine.

Make periodic payments. Go to www.narragansettbsa.org/HA Click on "Account Log-on" and select "my information" and "my registrations". Select "view details", you will see a payment summary. Then select "make payment" and follow the prompts.
