OTHER PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES

Other Programs and Facilities are available by request. Canoes are available for rent for those qualified. A separate form is required. Each camp has family cabins available for rental on a year round basis. For a nominal fee you and your spouse or family can have access to modern facilities and a quiet, relaxing weekend. Fishing and fishing equipment are available year round at both camps. There is a catch and release bass pond for beginning fisherman at Henson Scout Reservation. Other loaner equipment, such as dutch ovens, cook kits, water jugs and a limited number of tents and other camping equipment is also available. Each camp has an orienteering course. A chapel and local church services are nearby. Conservation and service projects abound at both camps. If you can think of it, you should ask about it. We are here to meet your needs! If we can - we will.

Tent Sites include fire rings and picnic tables. Bring your own tents. Latrines and frost free spigots are nearby.

Other Facilities are available by special arrangement. All facilities are available to organized groups other than Scouts.

FROSTBITE CAMPER AWARD is a Del-Mar-Va Council recognition program designed to promote outdoor winter camping. To earn the award Scouts must spend four nights under canvas between December 1 and March 31. At least 2 of the 4 nights must be at either Rodney or Henson Scout Reservation. Frostbite campers must sleep under canvas and prepare their meals outdoors using the Patrol Method. This award may not be earned by an individual camping out on his own. The award is an embroidered emblem for first time Frostbite Campers and is followed by embroidered segments in subsequent years.
