Fundraisers: Proceeds from fundraisers such as the car wash and the rest area coffee giveaway will be shared between participants and the Troop general fund. Participants will have the money deposited to their individual campership funds which can be used for Scouting events. Allocations will be determined by the parent committee based on hours of participation and total revenue.

Advancement: The websites listed below have good information about Advancement. There are two parts to Advancement, earning ranks and earning merit badges. You don't have to do either to enjoy Boy Scouts but it can be fun, challenging and rewarding as you learn many new skills and gain knowledge. So if you would like to know more the following sites can help out. Also your Troop (scouts, leaders, and committee members) are knowledgeable and will gladly answer many of your questions.

If you are ready to advance a rank -- and have had the Scoutmaster's conference – contact the Advancement Chair,melvatimm@comcast.net, to schedule a date for your Board of Review (BOR). Remember to bring your book and wear your uniform!

General Advancement

This is an excellent introduction to Advancement in generalhttp://www.usscouts.org/macscouter/cubscouts/PowWow07/SCCC_2007/UOSClassNotes/AdvancementForDummies.pdf

Merit Badges

Introduction to merit badgeshttp://usscouts.org/mb/intro.asp

A handy merit badge checklist, shows all the merit badges and which ones are required for Eaglehttp://www.usscouts.org/netresources/forms/genchecklistmb.pdf

Would you like a challenge?  Check this quizhttp://www.mystudiyo.com/act87218/mini/go/can_you_name_that_merit_badge? There are other quizzes on subjects like camping, animal tracks, and emergency preparedness.

Rank Advancement

Shows the rank badges, then by clicking on them you can see (and print if you like) a worksheet outlining the requirements for each rankhttp://usscouts.org/advance/boyscout/bsranks.asp
