Welcome to Sea Scouting in the Baltimore Area Council!

Sea Scouting is an adventure on the water AND on land. The BSA Sea Scouting program is offered to young adults - GIRLS and BOYS - from age 14 to age 20. It's a truly UNIQUE chance to learn, have fun, and open doors of opportunity available nowhere else...Check the Unit List (at left) for a Ship in your area - contact them, attend a meeting, and you're ON YOUR WAY !

The Purposes of Sea Scouting
Sea Scouting is organized to provide social activities, promote good citizenship, and to improve it's members leadership experience and ability. The Sea Scouting program uses high adventure activities, especially those utilizing boating skills and knowledge, as the VEHICLE to achieve it's greater purposes. Sea Scouts typically have opportunities for instruction and practice in:

  • Water Safety
  • Boating Skills
  • Citizenship
  • Leadership
  • Outdoor activities
  • Fitness
  • Social activities
  • Community Service
  • Martitime heritage
