Doubleknot Friday News
January 8, 2016
As 2016 begins, we’ve picked ten (plus one!) of the most important and powerful features and enhancements that we released in 2015.
Doubleknot’s Top Ten (Plus One) for 2015!
Our Sales Station point-of-sale (POS) and mobile POS solutions deliver the same reliable, adaptable services to on-site and remote sales. At last, you can sell exactly the same tickets, memberships, registrations, reservations and merchandise online and in person at any physical location.
Every aspect of the customer experience for calendar activity events, memberships, reservations and donations looks great on any mobile device. And, you didn’t need to make any changes to your site—the new pages seamlessly integrated with your existing configuration.
Through the year, we rolled out many improvements to Doubleknot’s reporting. The Izenda report writer was upgraded to the latest version, adding even more powerful customization and data management features. All reports were reorganized and categorized to make it easier to find the report you need, and two of the most important financial reports—the Revenue Report and the Purchase Report—were optimized to display much faster.
For any registration, reservation or membership, you can send custom messages about upcoming and late payments on the exact schedule of your choice. (Naturally, information about notifications and payments are included in reports.)
We released a major enhancement to price groups and price schedules, with more powerful features to control pricing. Improvements include support for setting price groups, early discounts and late fees for individual activities or tracks as well as for the overall program.
Doubleknot now provides an easy way to allow constituents to purchase a membership as a gift, which helps increase participation and promote membership.
The new Discounts interface is more powerful and flexible than ever, so you can set up exactly the right incentives for your constituents.
Organizations that rent facilities can now set different booking windows for different organizational groups. You can now control how far in advance of the reservation start date that different groups can make their reservations, and how many months are displayed on the availability calendar. For example, you could allow members to reserve a facility at any time and show up to six months in the calendar, but require others to book at least 21 days in advance and only show three months in the calendar.
Previously, if you used group registration for programs like summer camps or conferences, people who updated their registrations to assign registrants to session events (classes and activities) had to complete the checkout process to save their selections. You can now configure group signup programs to allow people to name registrants and select activities for an existing registration without going through the entire checkout process again—their changes will be automatically saved.
We built a new, easier-to-use interface for the Site Brander content management system (CMS) that made all of the functionality and features easier to access.
11. Behind-the-Scenes Infrastructure Upgrades
At Doubleknot, we strive to give you more, so our “top ten” list has an eleventh item: our ongoing behind-the-scenes improvements to our architecture that are too numerous to mention. Highlights include our transition to a powerful content delivery network (CDN) to ensure that your content is delivered quickly no matter where your visitor is located.
