The New Mexico Nuclear History Trails Award

Boy Scouts & adult Scouters can earn the NM Nuclear History Trails Award by completing the following requirements:

  • Complete the Nuclear Science Merit Badge (Scouters can meet this requirement by familiarizing themselves with the contents of the Nuclear Science Merit Badge Pamphlet)
  • Visit one of New Mexico's Nuclear Museums:
    • Albuquerque: www.nuclearmuseum.org
    • Los Alamos: www.lanl.gov/museum
    • KAFB: Defense Nuclear Weapons School
  • Visit Trinity Site: Open to public 1st Saturday in April
  • Attend a lecture or view a film on the history of the Manhattan Project (see list)
