RETIREMENT OF CAMP RANGER LARRY EDWARDS
Please join me in extending our very best wishes to Larry Edwards as he begins his retirement and begins a new chapter in his life. Larry’s last working day with the council was Friday, September 15, 2017. Larry has been an integral part as the Ranger of Los Padres Council ever since 1994. It is difficult if not impossible to sum up Larry’s achievements over twenty-three years of dedicated service. His contributions will always be valued and remembered.
Larry’s hard work, commitment, and dedication to Scouting are worthy of admiration. Larry will be greatly missed by both Scouts and Scouters alike. We have all benefited from Larry’s “can do” attitude that has made Rancho Alegre a much better place during his employment with the council. Filling Larry’s shoes is an almost impossible task.
As a tribute, Los Padres Council has asked Larry if he would allow us to recognize his contributions to both Rancho Alegre and Los Padres Council with a farewell party. Once Larry and his family make that decision, we will share the details and hope that you will join in the celebration of an esteemed employee and a great person.
On behalf of everyone with Los Padres Council, Boy Scouts of America, I would like to wish Larry the best of luck. Larry has shared that he is eager to catch up on traveling and spending time with his family, as well as being a Scout volunteer. Congratulations to both Larry and his family for his wonderful accomplishments and service to our council.
Yours in Scouting,
Carlos Cortez
