WHAT: Wood Badge training provides a common leadership foundation for all BSA programs, incorporates the most modern leadership practices and increases the quality of the program for our youth. WHEN: Two weekends – Saturday – Monday, September 12-13-14, 2009 AND Saturday – Monday, October 10-11-12, 2009 -- each weekend starting around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and ending at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Monday. WHERE: Winnebago Scout Reservation (September) and Camp Lewis (October) – both camps are located in Rockaway Township, New Jersey. WHY: You will develop better leadership skills – gain knowledge – have a great experience – enjoy Scouting fellowship and have lots of FUN bringing the best program you can to our youth. Wood Badge has evolved into the core leadership skills training course for the BSA. The new Wood Badge course focuses on strengthening every volunteer's ability to work with and lead groups of youth and adults and is less focused on outdoor skills, which are more effectively addressed in other courses

Attention: All Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout and Venturing Leaders Wood Badge for the 21st Century is open to all Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout and Venture Scout Leaders who have completed the basic training for their registered position in Scouting. Cub Leaders must have completed New Leader Essentials and the position specific training for their position. Boy Scout and Varsity leaders must have completed New Leader Essentials, the position specific training as well as Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. Venture advisors must complete New Leader Essentials, position specific training and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.
Wood Badge for the 21st Century is a training continuum! There is no requirement to be invited. If you have completed the basic training requirements for your registered position, you are encouraged to attend Wood Badge.
