This is not a typical "scout show." In celebration of the banner occasion of the BSA's 100th anniversary, the Mohegan Council is assembling a community-wide festival during which scouts will demonstrate scout skills while partnering with businesses and corporations that elevate the displays of yesteryear to a level not seen before. This will be a "knock-your-socks-off event" that will intrigue and delight people of all ages.
In addition to scouting exhibits, we are enlisting community exhibitors such as the Worcester Sharks, Six Flaggs New England, The Zoo in Forest Park, Battleship Cove, Central Rock Climbing Gym, Crab Apple Whitewater Recreation, Old Sturbridge Village, and others to add another dimension of fun and education to the event. There will be stage shows, special surprise guests, activities for young children as well as extensive Scout memorabilia.
The weekend kicks off with an Eagle Scout reunion dinner on Friday evening, a parade from Worcester City Hall to the DCU Center beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday morning leading to opening of the two-day DCU Center event. We anticipate 8,000 people to attend the First Centennial New England Scout Show.
Tickets will be available through the Mohegan Council and local scouts in 32 communities within central MA after November 15. Admission price is $10.
