Your 2010 National Jamboree troop is now accepting application Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America by joining the 43,000 Scouts and leaders at the National Jamboree. What: The 2010 National Scout Jamboree When: July 26 - August 4, 2010 Where: Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia Who: The National Jamboree is open to all registered Boy Scouts who: · Are at least First Class by July 1st, 2010 · Have completed the 6th grade, or are at least 12, by July 1, 2010 · Must be approved by their Scoutmaster and the local Jamboree committee · Must not be 18 before Aug. 3rd 2010. · Must participate in a pre-jamboree training experience · Must file a personal health & medical record form before that training event. How: To register for the Mohegan Council Jamboree troop visit www.bsajamboree.org and click "Register Now". You will need your BSA membership number (found at the bottom of your membership card) and credit card for the $10 registration fee. Once you have completed the registration process you will need to have your Scoutmaster sign the form you will be given and return it to the Mohegan Council office with a $100 deposit. This process does not guarantee you a spot, but allows you to be considered for placement one of the two troops that Mohegan Council will send to the National Jamboree. The total estimated cost for youth participants will be $1700. This fee includes transportation, meals and lodging en route to and from the Jamboree, special patches and neckerchief, patrol and troop equipment, a Jamboree training weekend, and tour days on the way to the Jamboree. A payment schedule will be announced with installments due beginning Fall of 2008, and the final payment due February 2010. Total final costs will be announced this fall.
