The Ideal Native American stands for the highest type ofprimitive life. He was a master of woodcraft, and un-sordid, clean,manly, heroic, self-controlled, reverent, truthful, and picturesque always. Hecan teach us the ways of outdoor life, the nobility of courage, the joy ofbeauty.
Scouting strives to emulate
and teach the same qualities. As this year’s ScoutBase Program is dedicated to the Ideal Indian and the Scoutcraft ways, our goal is to provide a range of educational, hands on skills and fun games to promote greater awareness and appreciation of the accomplishments and skills of the Native American people. Many of our original Scouting traditions can be attributed to the Native American way of life.
At ScoutBase 2008, with SO much going on, you'll find it difficult not to have fun.
