DISTRICT AWARD DINNER

The District Award Dinner is fast approaching May 6th to be exact.  This dinner is for you!  A time to recognize the volunteers in your unit.   There will be white linen table clothes, a wonderful dinner, Order of the Arrow youth assisting where needed and a presentation put together by Del Loder on the 100 years of scouting. And don’t forget dessert.

Leaders:  We have a new award this year that we are very excited about. The Shooting Star Award is an award that only you can submit on behalf of one adult in your unit.  The award recognizes a volunteer that goes beyond what is expected of them.  This is an opportunity for the unit to pay for the recipient’s dinner as a gesture of thanks while supporting them by being there to see them receive their recognition.

Unit Committee members:  We have three awards that you may want to award to one of your adult volunteers.  The Bob and Margaret Story Award recognizes a family that is active in scouting and whose support over time has been above and beyond the call.   This award will be given to one family in our district.  If you have a family that is active in scouting please get their paper work in.

The George Ledger Award is awarded to one Scouter who exemplifies what George stood for in his life of leadership and his continued interest, support, and friendship in scouting.

There is also the Award of Merit.  The Award of Merit is given to those individuals that go above and beyond to volunteer in scouting and the community.  We award three to four recipients with this award.  Paper work on this award takes a little time and work to put together, so you should get this started now.

All the forms and information for these awards are on the Aurora District Website.  http://www.doubleknot.com/openrosters/view_homepage.asp?orgkey=58

We are looking to you for names and info on possible recipients for these awards.   Let us help you make someone feel appreciated for all they do.   Please take the time to fill out and submit the names of your candidates.  Every thing you need to know is on the website.  Time is quickly coming so get those forms in before it’s too late.    Click here to register
