About Our Organization

Boy Scout Troop 42 is based in Quincy, MA. Our chartered organization is Chirst Church. The city of Quincy is part of the Great Blue Hill District which is the southern half of the Boston Minuteman Council, which is Council #227 of the Boy Scouts of America.

We meet every Friday evening from 7-8:30pm at St. Johns School. We are a very active Troop that goes on at least one outing per month. We also plan one long distance trip per year.

Boys of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds from ages 10.5-17 are welcome to join the Troop. At least one adult is requested to join the Troop with each boy to assist with the operating of the Troop. Boy Scout Troops are entirely volunteer run, and it takes the involvement of all the families to make them run well. The annual dues (as of 2008) are $120 per year. The only other joining requirement expense is for a uniform shirt.
