Merit Badge Tech Day

On March 8, 2014, Three Harbors Council will be holding the 4th Annual Merit Badge Tech Day at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha. Some of the merit badges that will be offered again this year include: Truck Transportation, Aviation, Home Repair, Crime Prevention/Fingerprinting, Dentistry, Energy, Robotics, Surveying, Drafting, Architecture, Electronics, Soil & Water Conservation and Welding.  New Merit Badges that will be offered are Fire Safety and Radio. We are also working out details to possible have a couple of other ”surprise” merit badges available. You must be 12 years old or older on the day of the event to participate.

Online registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. on February 8, 2014 and end at 8:00 p.m. on February 22, 2014 or when all sessions have been filled. Space is limited so don’t delay on registering! The link for the registration and other information will be posted on the council website in January and Scouts will only be able to select one merit badge to work on for the day. These merit badges will be delivered by Gateway College Staff and a Three Harbors Council merit badge counselors.

Please note a couple of important changes for this year:
  • A signed blue merit badge card will be required for participation, they will NOT be provided as they have in the past.
  • Each boy will need to bring a signed card from their Scoutmaster in order to participate.
  • Registration to attend the Merit Badge Tech assumes approval for pictures to be taken.
The day will begin at the Madrograno Center on the Kenosha Gateway campus. After the opening ceremony, some Scouts will be transported to the Gateway facilities at the iMet Center in Sturtevant and the Horizon Center in Kenosha.  At the end of the day, everyone will be transported back to the Kenosha Gateway campus for the closing ceremony.

The cost for this event is $7.00, which includes lunch and a participant patch.
