Outdoor Leader Training
Scouting provides many opportunities for youth ages 7 through 17 to help plan and participate in rugged outdoor adventures. From day hikes to camporees and summer camp, the unit plans activities that match the interests and abilities of the Scouts. Older Scouts may participate in high-adventure programs such as rock climbing, rappelling, and whitewater rafting. Younger Scouts may attend day camp or summer camp and learn teamwork within their den or patrol. Summer camp blends fun program with advancement requirements to reinforce skills learned throughout the year.
We at the Narragansett Council firmly believe that training all of our Scouting Leaders to Be Prepared when taking Scouts into the outdoors is a key component for your success as a Scout Leader. Our Outdoor Leader Training weekend consists of the three unique Scouting outdoor trainings including: Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation, Outdoor Webelos Leader Skills, and Outdoor Leaders Skills. No matter what you do in Scouting, you can take any of these courses.
