- Know how to accomplish outdoor skills while fulfilling advancement requirements
- Acquire the skills necessary for instructing Scouts using the EDGE method to lead, plan and carry out successful campouts
- Increase leaders knowledge of BSA outdoor skills resources
- Demonstrate the outdoor skills necessary for basic campouts
You are registering for a combined SM-specific (S24) and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS, S11) course in two parts.
Part 1: SM-specific and four IOLS-required skills session, May 9, 2015.
Part 2: IOLS completion, May 15 (5:30 pm) to May 17 (noon), 2015, Camp Tahosa, Ward, CO. Part 2 details presented at May 9 Part 1 session.
For May 9 session, please bring the New Troop Leader's Guide, Part 1 (replaces the Scoutmaster's Handbook; available in February); Boy Scout handbook; writing utensil and notebook; unbreakable all-temperature beverage cup, plate, fork and spoon; curiosity; a desire to have fun; and all your questions to stump our training staff. Wear your Class A uniform if you have one.
Cost is $30 for food/supplies, camp fees and training materials.
Class will be held at Green Mountain Christian Church
