2014 Powder Horn

The Powder Horn course is designed to help Venturing Leaders and other adults involved in the unit, to safely conduct activities of a fun and challenging nature. It provides an introduction to the resources needed to successfully lead their Venturers through a program of outdoor adventure. This course is based upon the Ranger requirements giving participants an exposure to some outdoor/high adventure activities and not a certification event.

This course is not a total training program, which enables the Venturing or Boy Scouting unit leader to be an expert or even self-sufficient in any aspect of outdoor skills. The adult leader will most likely still need knowledgeable, trained and certified individuals (consultants) to help provide a safe and correct outdoor/high adventure program.

This is a two-session event: Session 1 (8/14-17/14) at Peaceful Valley; Session 2 (8/22-24/14) at Tahosa High Adventure Base. When you register, you automatically register for both sessions.
