Town Hall Meetings-December 2012

By now you've likely heard that our Los Padres Council is facing some significant financial challenges as it heads into 2013, and the upcoming decisions on how to meet those challenges may have significant impact on YOUR Scouting experience, and on the youth we all serve.

You are invited and encouraged to attend one of two upcoming "Town Hall" style meetings with Los Padres Council President Laurie Tamura and Council Program Director Ron Walsh, to discuss where we are financially as a council, what this means for us as a council short-term and long-term, and to discuss options on the table for solutions.

These meetings are open to all Scout leaders, Scout parents, and anyone interested in the future of Scouting in our Districts and Council. Please know that no final decisions have been made yet, so it is very important for you to come and find out more and have your voice heard, especially in terms of opportunities we have to work together to meet these challenges!

The first of the two meetings will be on Thursday, December 13, 2012, in the Camino Real District at the San Luis Obispo LDS Stake Center, 651 East Foothill Blvd. in SLO at 7 PM.

The second of the two meetings will be on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, in Del Norte District. This meeting will be held at the Scout Hut (downstairs) at the Atascadero Lake Pavillion. (Directions:  located at the corner of Pismo Avenue and Marchant Way, just off Morro Road/Hwy 41 East, behind the Atascadero Zoo).

You may attend either or both meetings, although it is anticipated much of the same information will be conveyed at both meetings.
