District Award of Merit

The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts to any registered volunteer Scouter who has given service of an outstanding nature on the district level.

The District Award of Merit nomination Form is used in Nominating candidates that will be recognized at our High Desert District Dinner in January.  This is the highest award given by the district.  Our district has the ability to have 5 Awards to be given based on the unit population in the district. Please give this some consideration and turn these in by December 31, 2015 to:

 

 

Requirements

Nominee must be a registered Scouter

Nominee must have rendered noteworthy service to youth at the district level, both within Scouting AND outside of Scouting

Consideration should be given to the nominee’s attitude toward and cooperation with the district and council.

  

Silver Beaver

Silver Beaver Award Knot

Established in 1931, the Silver Beaver Award is presented by the Boy Scouts of America, to council, district or unit volunteers for distinguished service to youth. It is the highest award that a local council may present to a volunteer. The award consists of a silver beaver suspended from a blue and white ribbon, worn around the neck. A blue and white square knot may be worn on the uniform as well.
