2009 Netop District Pinewood Auto Race

The top finishers from your Pack’s Pinewood Derby Race are invited to compete on Saturday April 4, 2009

*Cost: $ 6.00 per car owner on the Narragansett Council Website until March 28, 2009.
*Registrations must be completed online by March 28, 2009. After this date, telephone registrations will cost $15.00 per Cub Scout and are subject to approval. Please avoid the $9.00 surcharge per car with on time registration. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Our host Unit is Pack 76 Providence. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase before the race and during intermission at the snack bar.
Our detailed rules and specifications for a Pinewood Derby Car have evolved over many years dealing with overly zealous Cub Scout Parents. It is the responsibility of each Pack to fully inspect, measure, and weigh each car so it meets the technical specifications of the Netop District Pinewood Derby Committee before payment of the racing fees. Our scale is the only “Official Scale”. All cars must pass the 5-ounce weight limit. Cars with pointed front ends will run rear end first.
Each Pack is required to provide two Registered Cub Scout Leaders at this event to insure proper Scouting behavior within their group.
On race day, the car owner will be given a short time during the check in and car inspection period to make minor corrections to meet technical specifications. Car owners must bring their own tools.
Please instruct your parents NOT to purchase any type of “speed axles” as no extreme axle modifications are allowed.
This event is by Advanced Registration Only. Absolutely NO Registrations at the door. NO Exceptions. Easy sign up online ends on March 28, 2009.

We need the full names of all Pinewood Derby Car Owners racing at least one week in advance to prepare nametags. ONLY registered Scouts are allowed to race.
Packs with 20 or less Cub Scouts may register up to (3) three cars.
Packs with 25 or more Cubs may register up to (4) four cars.
Packs with 30 or more Cubs may register up to (5) five cars.
Packs with 35 or more Cubs may register up to (6) six cars.
Packs with 40 or more Cubs may register up to (8) eight cars.
Packs with 50 or more Cubs may register up to (10) ten cars.
Packs with 60 or more Cubs may register up to (12) twelve cars.
Packs with 70 or more Cubs may register up to (14) fourteen cars.
Two BSA Registered Cub Scout Leaders @ NO CHARGE. Names must be listed on the online Registration. These adults will sit with their Cub Scouts for the entire race.
The Pack Leader who completes the online registration is responsible for the Pack’s compliance to all rules of the Netop District Pinewood Derby Committee.
This Leader MUST attend the race.
By registering my Pack, I certify the listed Cub Scouts are duly registered with the Narragansett Council B.S.A. and I have personally inspected all Pinewood Derby Cars and certify that they meet the technical specifications of the Netop District Pinewood Derby Committee. I have provided a copy of the Netop District Pinewood Derby Rules to each parent and Cub Scout Leader who will be attending the race.
