Globetrotter University

Congratulations!  You have been invited to attend this special pre-show.  We ask that you please adhere to these simple rules to help make the day fun, organized, and memorable.  Remember, Globetrotter University is optional, so if you do not wish to attend, simply come to the regular show which starts at 7:00 (doors open at 6:00)  Please arrive at the Ryan Center North Lobby entrance (Plains Road side) at 5:00 p.m.  Your Globetrotter show ticket will have a special code printed on it that will allow you entry into this pre-show.  Once in the building, you will be directed into a line with many others.  You will then be escorted to a special seating section in the arena.  Please note:  You will NOT be sitting in the seats printed on your ticket for this portion of the show. 

Globetrotter University will start promptly at 5:30 p.m.  No one will be allowed in the building for Globetrotter University after 5:15, so please plan accordingly.  This pre-show will last ½ hour.  After the pre-show, you can then go to the seat printed on your ticket or visit the concession stands, merchandise stands, etc.  However, you will not be able to leave and re-enter the building for any reason after Globetrotter University!  Please be sure to bring everything you need with you when you enter the building at 5:00 ? such as medicine, diapers, etc.  If you need to meet up with people, you can do that inside the North or South Lobbies.  The main show will begin at 7:00 p.m.  For those who smoke, a smoking area will be made available just outside the North Lobby at 7:00.  Please see an event staff person to direct you into this roped off area. 

Description of this pre-show:  Globetrotter University is a youth-oriented, character education/physical fitness program presented by Harlem Globetrotter players.  They talk to kids about staying in school and stress the importance of cooperation, healthy mind and body, enthusiasm, etc. through the C.H.E.E.R. for Character program in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education.  They will also talk about the importance of physical activity through our partnership with the President?s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.  In addition, there will be a brief history of the team, a skills demonstration involving some volunteers from the crowd (not everyone gets to participate), and finally, a question and answer session.

Immediately following the game:  Autograph Session

As soon as the game is over, the entire team comes out to sign autographs for 30 minutes.  Your group is welcome to come down for autographs.  Fans can bring their own items to be signed.  You can also purchase them at the Ryan Center merchandise booths.
