Exploring Adult Advisor's Conference

The Potomac Boundary Advisor's Association and the National Capital Area Council proudly invite all Exploring Advisors to attend this three-day hands-on Exploring Conference in beautiful Ocean City MD. During this three-day conference you will be able to attend numerous seminars that are designed to help improve your Exploring program. 

These sessions will focus on providing you as an adult with important information to help improve the Exploring program within your organization. Along with meeting other Advisors from across the Northeast, you will also be able to visit our midway where vendors will be on hand to show you their products that will help your exploring program.

Some of the session you can expect to attend will be:

  • Adult Basic Leader Training (a must for all adult's in the Exploring program)
  • Fundraising
  • Recruiting Ideas and Methods
  • Keys to a successful post (how to conduct a First Nighter)
  • Leadership Development for Explorers
  • 501-(c) (3) Tax Exemption
  • Program Pitfalls and how to overcome them
  • Crisis Counseling (what to do with confidential info; family and school issues)
  • Diversion Programs
  • Junior Investigators (how to get young youth involved)

We will have some general sessions for the entire group and then break-out sessions during the day on Saturday.


 

SPECIAL KEY-NOTE SPEAKER
Marty Kadel, Northeast Region Human Resource Director

We are honored to have a special Key-Note Speaker with us on Saturday morning. Northeast Region Human Resource Director Marty Kadel will join us to speak to the group. Marty is the Northeast Region Human Resource Director and has many years of service to Exploring. Marty will share with us his insight into the Exploring program and why Exploring is vital to the origanizations that provide this program.

Registration is now on-line and you can sign-up today. All rooms are available only through calling the Grand Hotel  1-800- 447-6779 2100 Baltimore Ave, Ocean City MD. Room rates are $59.00 per-person, per-night,  double occupancy. Please let them know that you are part of the PBAA Exploring Conference.

Cost for this event is $75 per person and is separate from the Grand Hotel stay. We will have a hospitality suite available in the evening for the conference attendees. Check-in will be on Friday November 13 and we will be completed by lunch on Sunday November 15th.

Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be available for the conference after September 30, 2009. All refunds prior to that date will be charged a 15% cancellation fee.
