6:00 pm

St. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH

1350 Court Street, NE, Salem, Oregon

-Printable Version-

Come join fellow Scouters as we celebrate the achievements of 2012, with dinner and the annual district awards presentations.

In addition to the District Award of Merit, the highest award a district may give, we will present Journey to Excellence Unit Awards, Extra Mile Awards, the Commissioner of the Year, District Committee Member of the Year, the Cubmaster of the Year, the Scoutmaster of the Year, the Varsity Coach of the Year, the Venturing Advisor of the Year, and lots of other awards. We will also introduce the 2012-2013 members of the District Committee and have the drawing for the game tickets.

Come at 6:00 and enjoy a dinner of chicken, rice, salad, and rolls cooked by our own Keith Watson and cake. The awards will follow and will conclude by 8:30 pm.

You can buy single tickets at $8 per person through March 31, or you can purchase a table of 8 for $55. After March 31 only single tickets will be available at $10 a person. The cost at the door is $15. These are the same costs as last year. You choose who joins you at the table. Friends and family, members of your unit, your ward, your district committee, your choice.

All tickets must be purchased through the council website. No tickets/tables will be available at the Scout Shop or Scout Office. You must use the council website.

The deadline for all awards is MARCH 31, 2012!

If you nominate someone for an award or if you complete a training award form for yourself or another person, you are responsible for making sure you and the person you nominated comes to the District Dinner.

Also awarded will be Veteran Awards recognizing years of service as a Scout and Scouter. Again, forms are available on line at http://willamette.cpcbsa.org/. If you complete the form for someone else you need to make sure that person is at the District Dinner.

Units can receive the Summertime Pack Award (for Packs), the National Camping Award (for Troops) as long as we have enough ribbons, and the National Outdoor Challenge Award (also for Troops) by completing the necessary paperwork, available on the district web site and turning it in at the Salem Scout Office.
