You and your units Webelos are cordially invited to attend the Heritage District’s Webeloree.

The dates are 4-6 November 2011, to be held at. America Legion Post 31 4020 Victoria Blvd. Hampton Va.

The Webeloree 2011 offers your Webelos 1 and 2, the opportunity to participate in activities designed specifically for them in a Boy Scout camp environment. This event is organized as a two-night campout with a number of instructional sessions and events planned for the entire weekend.

The purpose of the Webeloree 2011 has three parts:

     a. It is designed to give your Scouts a jump-start towards obtaining their Webelo badge and their Arrow of Light Award.

     b. The entire weekend is inherently designed to inspire your Scouts to continue on the trail to Boy Scouts and cross-over into his new Scout Troop.

     c. It allows the Scouts and parents/guardians an opportunity to visit the different Troops in our District; meet the Scoutmasters; adult leaders; and to see how their Webelos interact with the different Scout Troops.

The Webeloree Staff is composed of experienced Scouters who are always on hand to answer questions and to supervise the instructional sessions. The instructional sessions are geared for your Webelos to have hands-on experiences to complete and earn Webelos activity pins. Your Webelos will be given the opportunity to participate in activities that will challenge them and encourage them to continue working on advancements on the den/patrol level and at home. They will participate in ceremonies, camp wide games, in camp cooking, a Saturday night campfire with skits and songs, and a flag retirement ceremony.   Some of the training sessions will be taught by older senior Boy Scouts with younger Boy Scouts assisting. These Scouts may be working on requirements for their next rank. Your cooperation will be appreciated.

Webeloree 2011 is open to all registered Webelo Scouts, their parents or guardians, Boy Scout Troops, Boy Scout Leaders regardless of districts or councils. The maximum capacity for Webeloree 2011 is 200 Webelo Scouts.

Webeloree 2011 is a rain or shine event. In case of severe weather, the Heritage District Council may cancel the Webeloree and all registered leaders will be notified.  If this event is canceled, we will try to reschedule it.
