Year 2015 News Blast  --  January 28, 2015
 

Several days ago we sent out a News Blast that had the wrong dates for the one week of Boy Scout Advancement Camp.  The correct dates for that camp are Sunday, July 12, through Saturday, July 18. We hope that no one has been seriously inconvenienced by this wrong information.  Again the dates are July 12-18.  For further information regarding Boy Scout Advancement Summer Camp, please contact Ron Walsh at rwalsh@bsamail.org or 686-5167.

Rancho Alegre will be holding one week of Boy Scout Camp this year from July 12 to July 18 (correcrted dates). We have already heard from six units that want to attend this week, and we have room for more.  A primary reason for only one week in 2015 rather than the usual 2 weeks is that a number of our traditional camping units have reservations at Philmont Scout Reservation and Nortiern Tier during July for their fantastic high adventure programs.  The Scoutmaster Handbook Guide to Rancho Alegre Summer Camp will be available later thsi week.  If you wish to receive a hard copy, please notify Dana Mendoza at the Rancho Alegre Office.  Otherwise, you should be able to download it from the Council website by the end of the week.  

Information on Cub Scout-Family Resident Camp on July 26-29 and Lifeguard Academy in June should also be available by that time.  Renember that one of the key elements of Scouting si the outdoor experience.

Order of the Arrow Dues

Attention all Order of the Arrow Members:

Dues for calendar year 2015 should be paid this week.  Dues are still $15.  If you pay your dues by January 31 and are among the first 200 to do this, you will receive a special membership patch (seen here) with your Membership Card.  Dues can be paid by mailing your $15 check with the accompaning form to the Santa Barbara Service Center at 4000 Modoc Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93110 or by paying online (click this link) at the Council website.
